Pilgrim’s Pride

Mark Haighton is the Pig Supply Chain Director for Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd, a fully integrated pork production business owning 65,000 sows and processing 45,000 pigs per week.

 Mark has been with Pilgrim’s, albeit through various iterations, since he started with George Adams & Sons Ltd in 1998 as a livestock buyer. Over time George Adams went on to be bought by Tulip which itself was acquired by Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd in 2019 and Mark now works within the Pilgrim’s agricultural division leading a team that is responsible for pig procurement & logistics, customer liaison and kill line data capture & communication.

 Within the industry, Mark sits on both the AHDB Pork and Red Tractor boards and holds a BSc in Agriculture & Food Science from Nottingham University.
